Basic training
Basic training is relevant for dogs of all ages, from a few weeks old to seniors adjusting to the changes of age.
The most common type of training is where I show the owners how to teach new behaviors and the owners practice on their own. Another type is where I do most of the training called Train-Maintain and you can see more about that below.
A session is one hour.
Price: 1 session of regular (owner-instructing) training is $60; a package of 5 sessions is $275.
Forms to be filled out and sent in ahead of 1st session: Client Info form and Pet Info. They can be emailed or texted.
Other forms: The Contract and the Liability & Release form will be done or finalized at 1st session but I encourage you to look through them before meeting. You can also finalize them but keep them with you.
Behavior Issues
Behavior modification is for dogs with behaviors that cause problems and that the owner wants to change. All behavior modification starts with a package that includes 3 sessions.
The first session is an evaluation, the development of a plan, and teaching the first exercises. This session usually takes from 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
The second session is a follow up of practiced exercises, evaluation of the first behavior changes, and teaching of more exercises. It generally lasts 1 1/2 hour.
The third session rounds up and teaches how to continue from there as well as evaluates if more sessions are needed. It takes 1 to 1 1/2 hour.
Some dogs and owners are fine to continue the work on their own after this, depending on the issues and severity, while others continue with regular 1-hour sessions.
Price: The behavioral modification starting package is $300. Following, an hourly session is $60; a package of 5 sessions is $275.
An evaluation without commitment to further sessions is relevant in situations where it is uncertain what intervention is the right answer to a severe behavior problem and how to develop a plan of action. Should the evaluation lead to further behavior modification, the fee for the evaluation will be incorporated into the behavior package. It usually takes 2 and hours but can be longer.
Price: An evaluation is $150.
Forms to be filled out and sent in ahead of 1st session: Client Info, Pet Info, and Behavioral Questionnaire. They can be emailed or texted.
Other forms: The Contract and the Liability & Release form will be done/finalized at 1st session but I encourage you to look through it before meeting. You can also finalize them but keep them with you.
train-Maintain
Train-Maintain is a service where I train your dog and you just learn how to maintain the new skills. I do most of the work but you will need to meet occasionally to be updated on the training progress and shown how to ask for the new behaviors.
You are welcome to contact me and hear whether the behaviors your want your dog to learn are appropriate for T-M training.
Train-Maintain sessions last an hour or a little more including transport when relevant from home to training location and back.
Train-Maintain sessions are $60; a package of 5 sessions is $275.
Forms: Contract; Liability & Release.
